One Year…A Go

One year ago, I made the journey of a lifetime. Thankfully, I have had a lot of opportunities to explore and capture some of my new surroundings. Below are some of my favorite images from said surroundings. From Malibu to Disneyland, California has so many places to check out that I could do a “new places” post every week…and I haven’t even been north yet! The last few images were taken with the “always there” iPhone and edited using various apps. I can’t wait to see what this next year brings and the new places I get to check out. Musical Stylings: Nyla Hammond

Say hello to my friend Nyla. I had the privilege of meeting her during my first trip to California and instantly knew she had soul. Nyla is currently making her way through the local LA music scene, so I decided to help her out and provide a few promotional images for her to use. We had a great time trying out different styles and ideas to get the images she needed for future posters and billboards (you gotta dream big, right?!). A Peyton Wedding

Today marks the one year anniversary of Eric and Melissa Peyton’s wedding day! This wedding was HOT…both literally and figuratively. The temperature that day exceeded 100 degrees which caused us to implement a “run outside for 10 minutes and get whatever photos we needed before everyone melted” style of photography…it was awesome! Once the heat subsided everyone was treated to a beautiful ceremony and a lovely reception. It was a joy to be a part of their special day and I look forward to hearing about what happens next. The Legacy Conference

A couple of weeks ago, I was asked to capture a really cool conference that equips parents with fresh ideas on how to prepare their children to live for Jesus. The Legacy Conference was held at Shepherd of the Hills in Northridge, CA and was hosted by the children and student ministry departments. From the uplifting worship music to the special guest speaker, Carey Nieuwhof, the conference did an amazing job at showing parents that they are not alone in raising their children. I had a really good time being a part of this event and look forward to it again next year. Enjoy the photos!

Fact: I love to go on adventures. Just me, my camera and an iPod full of music. That’s all I need. Recently I had some opportunities to go adventuring to some old and a lot of new[ish] surroundings. From a parking garage in Louisville, KY to the Spanish inspired stylings of the City Hall building in Pasadena, CA…I love what I found. Maybe you will too. Leave a comment and let me know. Enjoy!

A York Wedding

Happy one year anniversary to Andrew and Nicole York! This couple reminds me of what makes Southern Indiana so special…it’s full of good people. From the “down home” rehearsal dinner to the beautiful church their ceremony was held in, it was a privilege to be able to capture this moment in their lives. When I first met Andrew and Nicole it was one year before they were to be married and it is my honor to be able to write this one year after their amazing day. I wish them the best of luck with their new family…I know it’s going to be a good one. Happy photo viewing!

A Pedigo Wedding

Happy one year anniversary to my friends Casey and John Pedigo! If you could imagine the perfect summer wedding…this would be it. An outdoor ceremony, a reception under the stars and a canoe full of various beverages. Having known the bride since my freshman year of college, I knew that the day was going to be super relaxed and an overall pleasant experience. It was also really good to see people that I hadn’t seen in years and to celebrate this amazing occasion with them. I look forward to seeing where life takes these two and I am glad that I was there to capture the beginning of it all. Enjoy the photos!

It’s Family Portrait Time

Meet the Carrolls. They are great. I’ve known them for almost five years now and it’s been awesome to see their little family grow. On a recent trip back to Indiana, I had the privilege of spending some time with them and updating their family portraits. With Daniel being a graphic designer, a really good one at that, and Rebecca having to put up with it (haha); I know that they are always looking for unique photos…and I love that! Family Portrait Goodness

Say hello to the Kolarciks. I met them within the first couple of months of being here in sunny California and have become really good friends with them. They are a super artistic family (see links below) that loves Disneyland…so what’s not to like? Unfortunately (for everyone in California) they recently moved to Virginia where Ben leads worship at a local church. Luckily they had to make a trip back “home” and had some time for us to shoot a little family portrait goodness. We headed out to the Ronald Reagan Library in Simi Valley and had an amazing time. After you’re finished saying “awwww”; head on over to Ben’s website for some musical bliss and then to Melissa’s blog for all things cool. You’ll be glad you did.

A Wilson Wedding

One year ago, today, I had the privilege of capturing my friends Kyle and Melissa Wilson’s wedding. To say that these two people are awesome (minus Kyle being a U.K. fan) is an understatement…just check out Kyle’s customized wedding shoes! The day itself was quite eventful as well. From working around the rain to the energy they and their friends bring to every occasion; I had an absolute blast being a part of the festivities.
